No Signal No satellite cable
connected, or LNB faulty,
or Dish has moved off
line. Could also be shown if there is insufficient signal strength, particularly in heavy rain.

Check for Signal Strength & Quality.

Press the INFO button on the TurfTV remote and make a note of the % values for signal power and quality.

Ensure these % values are of minimum value 75% Power, 75% Quality.

If the percentages are good, but still a bad picture, record the actual % & the weather conditions on the call cleardown.

Requires Engineer Site Visit if weather conditions normal.

Pixelating/square blocks picture

Marginal Signal Level Could occur if there is insufficient signal strength, particularly in heavy rain. Might also be an indicator of the above, but the No Signal message may not be shown.

Possible Dish poorly aligned, or twin LNB spacing incorrect.

Check for Signal Strength & Quality.

Press the INFO button on the TurfTV remote and make a note of the % values for signal power and quality

No Card No Turf TV card inserted/ Card inserted upside down/ SKY card inserted in error

Insert Turf Tv Card (Green)

Check that the Turf TV Card has been inserted the correct way up (with the chip upwards, see diagram)

Check that a Sky card has not been inserted in the Kaon box in error

Incorrect Card

1. Card & Receiver have not been paired at installation

2. If the card HAS been authorised, & there's a black screen, it's possible the box has locked up.

3. If the card HAS been authorised, & the power cycle (option 2 above) doesn't work, then this unit has a faulty Card CAM module.

  • Check in Menu
  • Arrow down to 'CA System', press OK
  • Select the option 'CAS Slot1 CONAX CA', press OK
  • Arrow down to 'Subscription Status', press OK
  • Check that the month is current, & the code ends with '007'

007 = Authorised card

If anything other than 007 appears phone Appletree & have them authorise/pair the card

NOTE: we have had boxes that say 007, & the card is activated, but still needed Appletree to refresh the activation to the receiver

Turn the Kaon off, wait 5 secs, power back on. Wait for unit to boot, see if you get pictures.

Faulty Kaon Unit requires Engineer Site Visit to exchange the faulty item with a replacement KAON unit.

Won't Power UP Unit is too cold to function

Check Kaon box is switched on at the back ! Otherwise KAON is possibly very cold (e.g. stored in the van overnight) & below its operating temperature. Place in a warm place for 30-45mins & try again. OR try alternative unit. When warmed up these units are reliable & can be installed.

No/Low Audio Volume on receiver turned down

Press the button to the right of the OK button on the receiver to turn the volume to max. When pressed a volume bar will be displayed on screen, ensure the bar is up as far as it can to the right.

Remote Control not working Flat Batteries, or batteries incorrectly fitted

Ensure batteries are correctly fitted, replace with new if necessary.
