Better sign up for Turf TV

Amalgamated Racing (AMRAC) announced today that Better, London’s fastest growing bookmaking chain, will carry their Turf TV service from April 1st. For the rest of 2007 this will allow Better customers to watch racing from Ascot, Chester, Bangor, Goodwood, Newbury and York. Bookmakers will be charged £100 per month for the service in 2007.

Next year Turf TV’s full service will provide exclusive racing coverage from 31 of the UK’s best racetracks including Ascot, Cheltenham, Epsom, Newbury, Newmarket, Sandown & York to Licensed Betting Offices.

Better opened the doors to it’s first shop in May last year and now has 13 shops open and plans to roll out 2 a month for the foreseeable future. The company also trades online at betterbet.com. Managing Director Ian Hogg believes that signing with AMRAC’s Turf TV service was the only sensible choice. “Our business is all about delivering the best service on the high street, our customers expect high quality racing and we couldn’t stand up and say we are better than the big 3 if we didn’t carry the best racing product.”

Alan Morcombe, Executive Chairman of AMRAC, said: “Our Turf TV service has the gateway product for bookmakers and all the best UK racing. Furthermore, Turf TV is priced at a very competitive rate considering the sheer volume - let alone quality - of racing we have on offer. If SiS factor into their pricing the reduction in the amount of real racing they will have on their service then the cost to each bookmaker need be no more in 2008 than it is now.”
