Turf TV announced that it had reached agreement to supply its Licensed Betting Office television picture service to Coral’s 1560 betting shops.
The deal, which runs for five years, brings to over 4,500 the number of LBOs contracted for the January 1 launch of Turf TV’s full service, showing exclusive pictures from 31 leading UK racecourses together with a range of other betting content. A pilot operation, showing pictures from six racecourses, has been operating since April 2007.
Alan Morcombe, executive chairman of Amalgamated Racing, said: “This agreement is excellent news, for both Turf TV’s shareholders, Coral and its customers. It means that, just a year after we announced our intention to launch this service, we will start 2008 with half of the UK’s betting shops already signed up to Turf TV – well ahead of schedule.
“We have spent much of the last six months working with thousands of our existing customers to ensure that Turf TV brings serious improvements to betting shop operators and customers alike. Both I and my team are now looking forward to working along similarly constructive lines with Coral.”
